Understanding Scarcity by Michael Neill

A quick note from Michael:

Today's tip is adapted from my book Supercoach: 10 Secrets to Transform Anyone's Life. For more information and to read the introduction, click here.)

Economics is a vast and complex field, but in some ways it can be reduced down to one simple principle:

The scarcer the resource, the more we are willing to give up in order to get it;
the more common the resource, the less we are willing to give up in order to get it.

That means that on the one hand, a plot of land in the heart of the city will nearly always fetch more than the same size plot of land in the country; on the other, no one would ever bribe the Maitre D to get into a McDonalds.

Why do we put up with boorish behavior and ignorant decision making from the people above us in our company? Why is the customer "always right"?

Because they're the ones with the money. And despite recent estimates placing the wealth of the world at over 65 trillion dollars, we still see ourselves as a common resource in pursuit of a scarce one. Yet

In order to turn that equation around, there are only two things you need to understand:

1. You are surrounded by an abundance of visible and invisible money

Years ago I was at a seminar about raising money for film production. When the producer up in front of the room was asked where she intended to get the money for her next film, she said simply "from wherever it is now".

But unlike our successful producer, most of us think that our personal sources of income are limited to our jobs, or the government, or the beneficence of a wealthy relative. We fail to see the opportunities for wealth which surround us every minute of every day.

Here's the simple rule of thumb:

Anywhere there is a positive difference to be made, there is money to be made. If you can't (or won't) make any difference, you're unlikely to make very much money.

2. You are (or can create yourself as) a 'scarce resource'

My first mentor, Stuart Wilde, used to regale us for hours with stories of gas station operators who would attract customers from miles around with their five star hotel quality rest rooms, or purveyors of knick-knacks who made hundreds of thousands of dollars from people who wanted to "take home a little piece of the store".

His point was always to begin your quest for wealth by working on yourself - your energy, your skills, and your well-being.

"As you become more and more skilled in what you do and happier and happier in yourself," Stuart would say, "people will be drawn to you. They will want to spend time hanging out in your energy. And when they show up - bill 'em!"

The point is this:

As long as you see money as a scarce resource, you will continually inconvenience yourself in order to get it. As soon as you have created yourself as the scarce resource, the money will inconvenience itself to get you.

Have fun, learn heaps, and may all your success be fun!

With love,

Tonight's "Supermoon"

Don't forget to take a look at tonight's Full Moon, which is defined as a "Supermoon." NASA describes a Supermoon as rare because of its large size and how close it is to Earth. This Full Moon will be at perigee, when the moon is nearest to the earth. The last time a Full Moon has been as close as it is tonight was in 1993, also in March. The Moon and Sun will also line up with Earth's equator for tomorrow's equinox, thus the name "Supermoon," named by astrologer Richard Nolle. Some astrologers, including Nolle, see this Supermoon causing higher than normal tides now and in the following days.

This Full Moon is also in an 8 universal day numerologically, meaning power struggles and challenges globally as well as in your personal life if disharmony exists. Finances are also affected today in positive or negative ways, depending on how the spiritual laws of prosperity have been practiced.

Tonight is also a great time to connect with and use the powerful energies of the Full Moon practice to manifest your desires.

Debbie Ford's 2011 New Year's Ritual

2011 New Year's Ritual

Rituals can mark a new beginning or be the demarcation at the end of a chapter of our lives. They can set us up for a new future, mark a profound time of change and seal in the dreams and the desires of a life yet to be lived. This year, I've written a vow and a ritual for you that will open you up, remind you of who you are and leave you feeling blessed and ready for the upcoming year. So take a moment, breathe into each line of the vow, and allow yourself some time over the weekend to do the New Year's Ritual.

The Vow

My life is worth a billion blessings to all those I meet on my journey.

I am the heaven and all that exists in the sky above.

I am the vastness of my greatest thought and the infinite power that sources and sustains the entire universe.

On this day, I will remember who I am, what I am here for and why I chose the experiences that have come into my path this past year.

Today, I promise to leave the smallness of my darkest thoughts and melt with open arms into the never-ending, all-powerful love of my highest self.

Today, I surrender into the open arms of 2011, allowing each day of the upcoming year to surprise, comfort and nourish my soul's deepest desires.

I vow to return to the spark of the divine and use my power to light up the world.

This year, I will give to others what I want back for myself.

If I want love, I will find ways to love each and every person I come across.

If I want peace, I will think peaceful thoughts, say peaceful words and pray for peace for all those who are living in chaos, including myself.

If I want success, I will work diligently to help those around me succeed. I will stay focused, do my absolute best and seek excellence in everything I do.

If I want respect, I will begin by respecting life and all that comes with it. I will respect those around me and those who work hard to make this planet a better place. I will respect the earth, my body, my past and the gifts that I hold and I will surrender judgment for reverence.

In 2011, I trust that what I give to the world will be given back to me.

The Ritual

  • Make a list of 10 experiences that blessed and nourished you in 2010.

  • To complete 2010, write out why you chose the challenging experiences of the last year. Do this from the highest perspective so that you can find their gifts.

  • Notice if you're carrying any dark, small or limiting thoughts into 2011. Write them all down. Affirm you don't need them anymore. They're not the truth. They're just thoughts. Then rip them up into 100 shredded little specks of nothing and throw them in the trash.

  • Choose one quality (e.g., love, peace, success, respect, etc.) that you most want to express and commit to in 2011. Write out 5 ways that you can give and share this quality with others.

  • Write down 5 goals that you feel inspired to commit to in 2011.

  • Read this vow or use one of your own each morning to reconnect with the power you hold to light up the world.

I am wishing you a healthy, happy, inspired new year. May you give yourself all that you desire and all that you deserve.

Loving you always,

My New Year's Gift to You

Start the new year in a way that will promise to deliver you an irresistible and passionate 2011.

Last Minute (or anytime) Gifts Under $20

Make your gifts more meaningful this season or anytime by thinking about what the receiver may appreciate. Below you will find several gift ideas under $20. Don't forget to give yourself a gift or two also.

1. The Slanket

Give the gift of warmth to someone who lives in cold areas of the country, and help them save on energy costs at the same time. Slankets are the original, thick blankets with oversized sleeves, in a wide assortment of colors, made with very soft, durable fleece. I'm wearing my Slanket right now as I write this, just like the pictures on the website, and it's just as comfortable and cozy as it looks. Buy Slankets from the original Slanket website on sale (some for $19.99 plus shipping) or buy a Slanket from QVC now for $19.85 with free standard shipping.

2. Snuggies

Snuggies, blankets with sleeves which you may have seen on TV, sell for much less than Slankets and make good gifts also. Although Snuggies do not have the same quality and fabric thickness like Slankets have, I can see how Snuggies can help take the chill out at nights in areas of the country with warmer climates. Some come with a book light also. Find Snuggies at some dollar stores and stores carrying made for TV items, like CVS and Walgreens.

2. Candles

You cannot go wrong when you give candles. Originating since ancient times, candles have a wide variety of uses and meanings, including to represent enlightenment, for spiritual and religious rituals, to create a mood or ambience, to provide fragrance, for romance and to decorate an area. Candles make practical gifts also, such as emergency candles for lighting. Give one or two meaningful candles, like the quality aromatherapy candles sold at Yankee Candle or give an assortment of candles as a gift basket.

Make your candle gifts functional too. I've inserted tea light candles in tea light holders, which you can find in a wide range of styles, and wrapped them together as gifts. Tea light candles look like small, round candles which come in a disposable, metal or plastic container. Whether you purchase candles from a dollar store, craft store or specialty store, your gift of candles will always be appreciated.

3. Books

Find most of the books you want at and take advantage of their two-day free shipping, if applicable. Like Amazon, Barnes and Noble also has free shipping when you buy books totaling $25, a great way to buy more than one gift under $20. Barnes and Amazon will also gift-wrap the books for a fee. While you're looking at the site, notice they sell a wide range of goods besides books, including food.

4. Music

Give the special gift of music. If you don't know the type of music to give, consider music one can relax to or meditate with. Music for Candles featuring Kimmara Rosehart and James Lewis Feagans create CDs using various combinations of the flute, Native American flute, cello, piano, harp and acoustic guitar to assist you along your spiritual path. For instance, give the CD called "Attunement to Wealth, Health and Happiness" to assist you or a loved one to align with the Law of Attraction. I invited Music for Candles to perform on The Isle of Light television show in Denver, CO of 2002, which they did beautifully, mesmerizing and enlightening the television audience.

I've ordered music before and after meeting Steven Halpern, Ph.D., award-winning composer, producer and recording artist, greatly enjoying the broad range of music he provides. Halpern combines energy medicine with ancient sound healing to present you with music for meditation, sleep, relaxation, stress and much more. Halpern started out as a trumpet player, focusing on jazz/rock, a bass and guitar player and now produces CDs with a focus on keyboards. "Music for Sound Healing" and "In the Om Zone" are just two of his best-selling recordings you may want to check out on his Inner Peace Music website.

If you know someone who enjoys wine, you can find quality wines at Wine in almost every price range. Along with ratings from customers, Wine Express provides you with a professional, virtual video tasting of the wine you select, so you know a little about the wine and what foods it goes best with. You can have your wine selection shipped by UPS at a low fee to any state that allows alcohol shipping, as long as a signer is present upon delivery who is age 21 or older. If your shipment is local, consider having the wine shipped to you, so you can add something to the box, such as a CD or candles.

Free Divine Love Healing Program Update

Free Divine Love Healing Program Update

1. The Program is well founded in science and has thirty years of practical experience behind it. You can learn all about the details of the Program by reading Surviving Chaos and Apply Your Birthright. These books are available from Amazon worldwide or by special order in any bookstore in the U. S. and U.K. You can read about these books on our website.

2. The Program is NOT in conflict with any religion. The Program is "spiritual" because it involves God, angels and Divine Love. Divine Love is the unemotional love that God has for His creation - the earth, the universe and all of us. Divine Love is NOT your personal love.

3. The Free Healing Program is very simple to use:

A. Connect to the Program by intent.
B. Then give yourself permission to use your spirit and Divine Love to heal from within. This will clear your system over time for things known and unknown to you.
C. Commit to using the Program for 1/2 hour each day for 14 days.
D. AFTER the 14th day, you can continue to connect to the Program using a custom Petition as described in Apply Your Birthright to address any remaining symptoms.

4. For those that are having difficulty getting started for various reasons, consider these key points:

A. You can connect to the Program AT ANY TIME of your choosing and USE IT ANYWHERE. Simply connect to the Program and get on with what you need to do.

B. You do not need to be alone in a quiet reflective place. I have used the Program in restaurants, in crowds, on airplanes, in the movies, in the shower, while watching television, while reading and while engaging others in conversation. So can you!

C. The ONE thing that you have to pay attention to is NOT to predefine what you think should happen based on other experiences that you have had. To do so limits your healing. For example, trying the Program once for a few minutes is not sufficient. Similarly, repeating the Program several times a day does not increase your healing rate. In both examples your spirit controls your healing rate, not your mental desire, so be patient with yourself.

D. Remember that God (the Creator) is in charge, NOT you.

E. Your Spirit is part of you. Your spirit is NOT external to you. Thus, once you initiate the Program your spirit runs on autopilot to help you, BUT you have to initiate the action. Therefore, it doesn't matter what your mind is chattering about in the background or how well you can concentrate.

If you are not getting significant improvement after following the Program for 21 consecutive days, ask us for healing help. It may also be a good idea for you to make the Free HealingProgram part of your everyday practice as it will improve your wellness in all areas of your life and keep you balanced in the future.

Law of Attraction Secret - Stop Trying So Hard! By Forbes Robbins Blair

Law of Attraction Secret - Stop Trying So Hard!
By Forbes Robbins Blair

Many people try very hard to put the Law of Attraction to use to manifest their goals. But here's one secret: if you try too hard, you may be setting yourself up for failure.

Joanna had attended one of my Law of Attraction classes. She shared with me how desperately she tried, day after day, to put the attraction methods to work. Still, she had not manifested the job opportunity she desired.

Her problem is a common one for many people. The solution is surprisingly simple.

The Subconscious Mind Has the Power

The subconscious mind is the "magic genie of the lamp" power behind the Law of Attraction. When you consciously give it clear instructions and images about what it is you want and the satisfaction you will feel when the desire comes to pass, the genie uses its vast resources to make it a reality for you.

So here's the most important rule: "To manifest change with your subconscious mind, you need to reduce your conscious effort."

For example, let's say you have trouble sleeping, the harder you try to go to sleep the more wide awake you will stay. That's because when you "try hard" to do something, your subconscious mind believes that the task is too difficult.

So, as you put the Law of Attraction to work, it's an important secret to convey no conscious strain to your subconscious mind. Keep your efforts focused, clear and fun, but... give your subconscious no indications that you are in desperate need or that the goal might be hard to accomplish.

When I suggested that Joanna just relax and have a good time while applying this secret, several new job opportunities materialized for her within days. She told me: "It was like magic!"

Here are a few simple "secret" rules when you use the principle of Attraction:

* Concentrate on what you want with joy and pleasure
* Recognize that your subconscious mind is able to attract it
* Expect that what you want can and will happen
* Have fun with your Law of Attraction techniques

After all, you don't have to beg a genie to give you what you want. You just tell it what you want and let it do its job. So, approach your subconscious self with a sense of relaxed expectancy. And let it attract exactly what you want to your life.

At last people who've tried to improve their results with the Law of Attraction have another important piece of the puzzle. Forbes Robbins Blair uses his knowledge of self-hypnosis auto-suggestion techniques and his longtime interest in Law of Attraction symbolism to create a new e-book and audio program he calls The Genie Within. You can get more valuable information (testimonials, table of contents, and more) about this life changing ebook-audio program at his webpage.

Forbes Robbins Blair is the author of two self-hypnosis books: the popular Instant Self-Hypnosis and the new book The Self-Hypnosis Revolution. His website helps people understand benefits of hypnosis. He produces his own series of hypnosis audios. And Mr. Blair offers professional hypnosis-by-phone and in-office client hypnotherapy services.

Use Thanksgiving to Jump-Start Living Your Best Life

As you know, Thanksgiving is a reminder to have gratitude, as well as appreciation for the good in your life. Whether you choose to spend this day with family or friends, use the energy of Thanksgiving to jump-start your ideal life, and start living your best life now.

One exercise you may find interesting to do this Thanksgiving, or any day, is to see if you can go throughout the day without complaining about anything or criticizing anyone, including yourself and your personal situations. Focus only on the good you see in others and in the circumstances that happen during the day. Appreciation is the same vibration as love, the powerful high vibration that immediately connects you to God/Source/All-That-Is.

As a powerful daily spiritual practice, take out a notebook, write the date on top of the page, and start making a list of everything you appreciate about your life and what's going on in your life right now. Look only for the positive things you already see in you life now, not what you want to see in your life. Include what you appreciate about the people in your life now, rather than focusing on their faults. Write your list under specific topics, if you desire, such as "Health," "Money" and "Relationships." Spend about 15 minutes on this exercise each morning.

When you start each day practicing appreciation, you will notice yourself finding more things, events and people to appreciate in your life, increasing your feelings of joy. The more joy you have, the more you attract the things you want, such as a new career, more money or new friends who share and support your beliefs. You cannot change other people and their world, but you certainly can change yourself, your circumstances and your own world.

Transcendental Meditation on Nightline

Nightline had an interesting segment tonight, July 5, 2010 called, "Transcendental Meditation Thrives in Iowa", about the only city in the U.S. based on transcendental meditation, the city of Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa. There you will find hundreds of people harmoniously participating in global meditations. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi founded transcendental meditation (TM), which he taught for over 50 years in countries around the world.

People of all faiths and religions practice TM, which mainly requires sitting in a comfortable position with your eyes closed for 15 to 20 minutes and repeating a spiritual mantra, which could be a Biblical scripture, a song, a word, or a positive affirmation.

Vedic City is also home to the famous Ayurveda Health Spa, also shown on the Nightline segment. As the oldest holistic medical system in the world, Ayurveda originated in India over 5,000 years ago.

One of the heart health benefits was publicly announced in November 2009 by the director of the Center for Natural Medicine and Prevention, Dr. Robert Schneider. He states that practicing TM lowers stress and reduces your risk of heart disease by 47 percent. Fourty seven percent is much higher than any known heart medication or remedy to date.

Abraham on Your Career

"A very good career choice would be to gravitate toward those activities and to embrace those desires that harmonize with your core intentions, which are freedom and growth—and joy. Make a "career" of living a happy life rather than trying to find work that will produce enough income that you can do things with your money that will then make you happy. When feeling happy is of paramount importance to you—and what you do "for a living" makes you happy—you have found the best of all combinations. "

Take Time To Appreciate

Now more than ever before is the time to keep your connection strong with your loved ones, if not in person, in spirit. One way to do so is to find things to appreciate about each of your loved ones (or anyone) whenever you think of them. Write them down if necessary. Find something positive about that person and focus on that when they come to mind, rather than how they may currently be expressing themselves. The results may surprise you. Appreciation is a powerful expression of the love energy.

A dear relative made her transition just a few days ago and I will continue to remember and appreciate her beauty, loving personality, joyful spirit and much more.

May your Thanksgiving and every day be filled with joy, love and appreciation.

Think With Your Whole Body

"Whenever an answer, a solution, or a creative idea is needed, stop thinking for a moment by focusing attention on your inner energy field. Become aware of the stillness. When you resume thinking, it will be fresh and creative. In any thought activity, make it a habit to go back and forth every few minutes or so between thinking and an inner kind of listening, an inner stillness. We could say: don't just think with your head, think with your whole body. Stillness speaks."

~Eckhart Tolle

Abraham on Money

"When you find yourself critical of the way anyone has attracted or is using money, you are pushing money away from yourself. But when you realize that what others do with money has nothing to do with you, and that your primary work is to think and speak and do what feels good to you, then you will be in alignment not only about the subject of money, but about every important subject in your physical experience."

Let's "Appreciate" During Today's New Moon

After creating your New Moon list or scripting as you did before, let's do a few minutes of appreciation today.

On a separate piece of paper, write down everything you appreciate for the next 15 minutes or so. It can be anything you feel appreciation for as you look around. It can be things, situations or people in your life that you appreciate. Make lists of things you love.

On practicing your lists of appreciation, Abraham tells us, "You'll tune to who you are and the whole world will began to transform before your eyes."

The energies of the New Moon will still be strong tomorrow, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th. And of course, you can do all of this at any time.
